Ono-san Q:What was your favorite part of the SCEA E3 Press Conference 2012? Ono:Naughty Dog's THE LAST OF US's graphics were so real, and the AI of the little girl was extremely impressive. The feeling of frustration and tension were just so intense. I wanted to just yell out to all the Naughty Dog development staff. I realized that there are places outside of Japan that can make games look that good on current-gen hardware.
I was also surprised with the disrespectful conduct and lack of common sense of Mr. Harada who got up to go to the bathroom during SCE CEO Andrew House's speech.Andy! I saw you looking in our direction, but that was not one of our Capcom employees! The one who got up to take a leak was Harada from BANDAI NAMCO!! Just to set everyone straight.
Q:What was your favorite game from the conference?
Ono:As I just noted, Naughty Dog's THE LAST OF US looks like a must have title. Book of Spells, which was developed by Sony and J.K. Rowling, looks like one that you won't want to miss. As a new "toy", it looks like the creator of Harry Potter is breaking into new territories on the PS3.
Q:The actual E3 expo starts tomorrow. What are your expectations?
Ono:I hope that Biohazard 6 gets BEST OF SHOW, and everyone at Capcom gets a bonus! But seriously, at this year's E3, players can get a chance to test out cross matching between the PS3 and PSVita versions of Street Fighter X Tekken. I hope that a lot of players will get a chance to check this out.
Harada-san
Q:What was your favorite part of the SCEA E3 Press Conference 2012? Harada:My favorite parts were when Mr. Ono fell asleep before the conference, and when SCE CEO Andrew House stared at me when I tried to get up to go to the bathroom. I was surprised by how wide Andrew's field of vision is.
But joking aside, I was amazed with the new cross play features and PS1 Classics on the Vita. The AR stuff surprised me as well. I myself am a pretty conservative core gamer, so I was really impressed with the awesome graphic quality and facial animations of THE LAST OF US and BEYOND TWO SOULS!
Q:What was your favorite game from the conference?
Harada:THE LAST OF US was truly fitting for the end of the conference. Also, this is just a personal hobby, but I have been doing boat races for over 20 years, so I was really attracted to the ship battles in Assassin's Creed 3. I can't get that scene out of my head.
Q:The actual E3 expo starts tomorrow. What are your expectations? Harada:Every year I wish the same thing. I want the show to become something that more game fans and normal people will take interest in. Also, I want to rightly promote my own game, Tekken, at the show. |
